Latvian School Backpack Program at 3D Cinema

3D CINEMA, in cooperation with the “Latvian School Backpack” program, offers students and schools the opportunity to experience Latvian cinema on the big screen — including both modern movies and important films from past years. The goal is to make cinema visits a part of learning and discovering culture.*

* This offer does not include films that are not suitable for children (see the official film classification rules), including horror movies.

3D Cinema invites schools to take part in the “Latvian School Bag” program and enjoy exciting, educational, and emotionally rich Latvian films together with their class or even the whole school on the big screen.

Only Latvian films — with meaning and value.

We offer schools a carefully selected collection of Latvian films — including documentaries, feature films, and animations — that are suitable for different age groups and education levels. Each film gives students the chance to learn more about Latvian culture, history, society, or important events through touching and memorable stories.

Why choose cinema as a learning experience?

• Shared experience: Students watch the film at the same time, in the same space — this creates a sense of togetherness, encourages discussion after the screening, and helps build class unity.
• Big screen = deeper focus: Unlike watching on a phone or computer, the cinema allows full immersion in the story and a real appreciation of the art.
• High-quality sound and visuals: Films are shown in high quality so that every scene makes the biggest possible impact on the viewer.

Films for different age groups

Our program includes films suitable for primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary school students. You can also choose films with specific themes — for example, about Latvia’s independence, culture, nature, society, or modern youth life.

Book a time that suits you

We give schools the chance to choose the film and screening time that best fits their academic schedule. Morning or daytime sessions are available, with a flexible timetable and the option to book private screenings for your class or school.

How to apply?

• Check the list of available films and choose one that suits your class (click here);
• Fill in the application form below and include your class or school name, number of students, preferred time, and chosen film;
• Send us your request.
